Technology (Assistive & Instructional) Professional Development

FDLRS Gulfcoast technology function provides assistance and support in the appropriate use of a variety of instructional and assistive/adaptive technologies for professional staff, families, and our special population students.

Support and professional learning opportunities are available in the areas of assistive technology, instructional technology, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), AIM/NIMAS Florida services, and virtual/online instruction. 

FDLRS Tech Services include:

  • Technical assistance at the district and school level
  • Support of inclusion of technology into instruction.
  • Collaboration within each district to develop models to support the inclusion of students with disabilities into the general education curriculum through the implementation of universal technology solutions.
  • Support the development and use of technology-based accommodations for students with disabilities.

 Professional development, provided for district and school-based personnel, focuses on current technology available within each district to support student learning needs.  Topics touch on  -

--- assistive technology  consideration, intended to inform school staff of AT requirements and technology resources for trial through the state lending library (  

--- web-based technology resources and sites that revitalize classroom instruction and the teaching process and nurture active, engaged learning.
